Amy Danahey specializes in assisting individuals and couples who are working through adjustment and relational issues, career challenges and life transitions. Amy engages clients by blending complementary, evidence- based therapeutic techniques to help them foster insight and promote practical, meaningful change. Her gentle approach is one that values diversity and honors the life experience of each individual with whom she works. Amy strives to create a supportive, respectful space for clients to navigate their own path to personal growth, self- awareness and increased well-being. Amy works collaboratively with clients in identifying treatment goals and encourages feedback throughout their experience. Amy’s practice emphasizes cognitive behavioral and insight oriented methods, and is non-judgmental.
Amy has experience in both non-profit and private clinical settings, working with adolescents and adults. In addition, she has specialized training and experience in treating individuals who have suffered from sexual abuse, domestic violence and mood disorders.
A career changer, Amy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration before completing a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
