Dr. Rachel Riley Fancher's clinical experience includes work with individuals, couples, children and families. She gained extensive clinical training through work with Mt. Sinai Hospital, the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Jewish Child and Family Services. Her areas of interest and specialty include premarital and postpartum counseling, survivors of trauma, anxiety disorders, grief, divorce and parenting issues as well as attachment and interpersonal neurobiology.
Dr. Fancher's approach to therapy is problem oriented and solution focused. She focuses on current stressors and aids the client in identifying ways to alter thoughts, behavior, and environment to improve and change old patterns. Her therapeutic intervention techniques are informed by cognitive behavioral and attachment theories and focus greatly on interpersonal relationships. Dr. Fancher works with the innate strengths of each client and helps to provide them with skills to continue to improve their life and experience long after therapy has terminated.
Dr. Fancher earned her Doctoral and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Bachelors' degrees in Psychology and French Studies from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
