Alexandra Fliess
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Accepting: BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare and Self Pay
Alex enjoys working with adult individuals and couples who have reached an impasse in their life and are feeling stuck or unable to make a desired change. This impasse in life may arise from career or life transitions, issues in their relationship with themselves or a partner, or a desire to to feel more fulfilled in everyday life. Alex believes that change is always possible and focuses on the present moment to begin that process. She feels that each client has a story to tell that has brought them to the present moment and that story will help shape the change that they make moving forward. In her work, Alex draws on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and mindfulness, as she believes that to make a mental change also includes a change in behaviors or habit.

Alex is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago Master’s of Social Work program where she focused on mental health and traumatic grief, specializing in school social work. Since that time she has had extensive experience within the public school system, providing professional development, creating and implementing systems change to promote mental health within organizations and the community.
