Emma is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago. She has experience working with adults, young adults, adolescents, children, seniors, families, and couples seeking treatment, guidance, and support. Emma’s areas of expertise include anger management, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, work with those living with chronic medical conditions or diseases, work with parents and families of those diagnosed with chronic medical conditions, work with LGBTQ individuals, survivors of sexual and/or physical abuse, self-esteem/boundary work, eating disorders, substance abuse issues, and individuals who self harm.

Emma is comfortable utilizing a variety of clinical styles and modalities, including psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, mindfulness, DBT, and systems theories. She believes in an individualized approach to treatment and, though careful assessment, she will listen and work with each individual, couple, or family to assess the challenges at hand and then carefully choose a path of clinical treatment and style that is right for them.

Emma provides a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space to sort out life’s challenges and understands that making the decision to enter into therapy can be as daunting as it is a positive step forward. She will gently help clients move toward positive goals by letting go of past issues, negative thoughts, and/or behaviors that may hold us back, while respecting how difficult change and transition can be. Emma is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Illinois Chapter.
