Lauren approaches therapy from a “whole person” perspective and believes therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client. Lauren works with individuals and couples in a supportive environment to address various concerns. Her areas of specialty include, but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, medical concerns, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, work-life balance, and family and/or relationship conflict.
Lauren earned her Master’s in Social Work from The University of Chicago, and has a therapeutic focus on mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Lauren has spent a great deal of her social work career focused on individual, couples, and family work, with specialties in the areas of oncology, aging, and HIV/AIDS. Lauren has also done extensive work in trauma and interpersonal violence, as well as substance abuse.
