Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that everyone deserves a safe place in their lives in which they can speak honestly and without feeling judged. He also believes that everyone is an expert in their own struggles and that his role is to collaborate with his clients by providing different perspectives and therapeutic techniques. Matthew has worked for the last seven years in community mental health and medical settings providing therapy and managing therapy and substance use treatment programs. His primary focus has been working with individuals, couples, and families who have struggled with severe trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. His training and treatment style utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
More broadly, he is always using a Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed, and Harm Reduction approach to his work. Matthew studied Social Work at Loyola University Chicago specializing in Medical Social Work and a sub-specialization in Immigration Studies. Matthew is passionate about social justice and is committed to serving and empowering others.
