Sara works with individuals, couples, and families in creating a life which feels valuable and connected for them. Sara’s goal is to gently guide each client in moving from a place of struggle and overwhelm towards trust and contentment. By creating a warm, steady, and curious space, with just the right amount of humor and lightness, Sara helps clients in connecting with their most authentic selves through exploration of moments of past hurts and happiness.
Sara specializes in trauma processing, eating disorders, mood disorders, racial identity development, relationship issues, and body image. Sara also has extensive experience in working with LGBTQIA+ identity development, codependency, grief, family and couples conflict, personality disorders, and career concerns. Sara uses multicultural and multisystemic lenses to understand attachment patterns. Through knowing these pieces Sara is able to more comprehensively recognize and validate why historical coping skills have worked, and determine with each client what needs to shift to create a more valuable life.
Sara uses a relational and narrative therapy framework to understand the story of each client. She also uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to help each client move towards a more peaceful and fulfilled life.
