Bridgette W. Gottwald

Licensed Professional Counselor

Bridgette is a National Certified Counselor that works with individuals and couples on achieving equilibration and balance. She is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) based therapist that believes in the notion that a person’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors all influence one another. Once her clients make this connection, it’s easier for them to live a more satisfactory life. She believes that distorted thinking leads to distress and problematic behaviors, whereas realistic thinking with less negativity allows people to respond to challenging life circumstances in appropriate ways. Bridgette’s goal for her clients is to help them make their human experience more constructive, meaningful, and enjoyable both on a preventative and remedial level. Her style of therapy is geared to more productive thought processes that will have her clients better suited to deal with life’s problems.

Bridgette fully believes in the capacity of change and understands that everyone at times is subject to the whims of a randomly cruel universe. She helps clients understand that although life happens to all of us, that doesn’t mean it has to stop. She strives to be an agent of positive change within the lives of her clients as she helps them reach the optimum state of mental health and wellbeing that they are capable of achieving. Through her relationships with clients, she hopes to help them learn to examine their thoughts, feelings, attitudes, values, and behaviors as she enables them to grow and change in positive ways.

Bridgette received her master’s degree in Professional Counseling within the Clinical and Mental Health program at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has worked with various populations and clientele within the greater St. Louis area and this exposure gave her insight to a diverse spectrum of clients and disorders. Her specialties involve trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, BPD, ODD, ADD/ADHD, self-esteem issues, and suicide.

Throughout her entire life, Bridgette has always wanted to work with and help other people as a therapist and she truly believes that with help, everyone can learn to create a life they love and desire.
