Mercedes wants you to know you are brave for your willingness to seek guidance, through what may be one of the most difficult periods in your life. She is passionate about being present with people in those difficult moments whether it be due to trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss or life transitions. Mercedes believes that every person has inherent power and she will take a collaborative approach to help you see the best in yourself! She is an advocate for self-care and believes in practicing her own self-care to show up fully for her clients.
Mercedes is a Licensed Master social worker who earned her Master’s degree from North Carolina State University. She has been in the mental health field for 7 years and has experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideations, trauma , and grief and loss. She has worked in inpatient hospitals, residential treatment , and at local hospitals providing crisis intervention. She utilizes various treatment modalities to include: CBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, art therapy, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive approaches, and mindfulness to name a few.
Mercedes will meet you where you are in your journey to wellness with compassion and an open heart. She strongly feels that it is a privilege to be a part of your healing process and she looks forward to working with you in your own time and own way!
