Biography

Tricia graduated from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work in 2000. Over the past 22 years Tricia has worked as a hospice/home health social worker, grief counselor, drug and alcohol counselor, discharge planner, intensive outpatient therapist and a jail mental health practitioner.

Tricia specializes in helping individuals and couples with current struggles and past trauma/loss. During her sessions, she helps her clients achieve hope, happiness, an optimistic outlook on the future and self-love/care. Life can be unfair, it includes family disagreements, work problems and feelings of “I can’t do all this anymore” or “I am so overwhelmed.” Tricia will help clients stop being a "yes" to everything person and teach them to say “no” when it is not in their best interest. Tricia will help teach clients coping skills, mindfulness, ways to move through life struggles and navigate relationships. Clients will enter a therapeutic, safe environment that is non-judgmental and full of hope.

Tricia uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational
Interviewing (MI) and mindfulness to help clients feel empowered. Tricia is currently working with clients 18 years and above through tele-health sessions only. Clients
must reside in any part of Texas for Tricia to conduct therapy sessions.

When Tricia is not working at Symmetry Counseling, she enjoys traveling, massages, exercising,
practicing self-care and hanging out with her 13-year-old son and 2-year-old Corgi.
