Biography

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) whose areas of focus include, but are not limited to: substance abuse/dependency, major depression and anxiety, PTSD/complex trauma, LGBTQ issues, family and relationship issues, low self-esteem, and adjustment disorders. My clinical background includes work with individual, couples, and families, with a focus on aiding clients in identifying problematic patterns, and developing their individual strengths to create lasting change in their lives. I believe in providing an unbiased, non-judgmental space for my clients to process and grow. I am passionate about working with clients with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and believe cultural competency to be an essential part of best practice.

Therapy is a collaborative effort, and my client’s needs guide the intervention. Utilizing a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and harm-reduction/abstinence-based treatments, I work with you in developing a treatment plan tailor-made to your individual needs.

I am a lifelong Chicagoland resident, and received my MSW from the University of Illinois at Chicago Jane Addams School of Social Work. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, (with a minor in linguistics!) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
